.: Realistic Pink Rose :. by tanya1 .: Realistic Pink Rose :. by tanya1
I've been chickening out of making realistic looking roses, and finally decided to suck it up and try it out today. There are some visible mistakes, but overall I am quite happy with it. Tell me what you think, or what you would recommend to make it better!

Made of Sculpey Polymer Clay, this rose is about 3cm across.

Great work. I've only made small ones myself. Can't find the courage either ._.

Haha, just learned how to do this myself! But I really haven't seen any tutorials on this kind of thing, so I might get one going sometime when I get better!

That's really nice :) I try it yourself but it's hard, you want to do it right from the start

Beautiful! It really does look real.

Only 2 things I see that might help it look even more real:
Take some pastel chalk and shave off dark green, light pink, dark pink, red, and a tiny bit of white and lightly brush on to 'shade' your rose.
The bud in the middle looks a bit big, maybe next time have it smaller with more petals?

Thanks for the advice, I'd like to try the pastel tip out! And yeah, I noticed the bud was too big half way through, but decided I really didn't want to start all over again haha

I like it because it looks like what we call a Victorian rose.

This is awesome!! And really realistic!! ^ using a darker green would make it ieven more so though! And if you were up for a challenge, you could try making the petals with a skinner blend of a few different shades of pink ;) its really pretty;)

Thanks you :) I've wanted to try out blending, but am always afraid of it going wrong and having to waste all that clay!

Yeah, me too;) but even if you stuff up, it still makes a colour that you can use for other things!

The rose is awesome!
You just can take darker green clay for leaves to look more naturally next time. But that's the only one advise)
As I said - flower looks beautiful and really live =)

Thanks! And yeah I definitely agree, it's the only green I have at the moment unfortunately, but it just doesn't look quite right!
